FEMA

The settlement of Brou v. FEMA, No.06-0838 in the Eastern District of Louisiana, a case to require FEMA to provide accessible trailers to people with disabilities displaced by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita was approved.

Toll-free numbers for class members to call, beginning October 10, if they need an accessible trailer or modifications to the trailers that they have. The numbers are 866-496-4297 (for evacuees from Louisiana) and 888-294-2820 (for evacuees from Mississippi).

Calls must be made before May 9, 2007 to insure receipt of an accessible trailer or modifications to existing trailers to make them accessible (unless the need arises after that date).
